There’s a moment on race morning in Corvara when the valley goes quiet, thousands of riders hold their breath at the start line, and then the mountains simply open up in front of you. That’s the Maratona dles Dolomites — not just a Gran Fondo, but a day you’ll measure the rest of your season against. For one day a year, seven of the most legendary passes in cycling are closed to everything but bikes: Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Giau, Falzarego, Valparola. Choose the full Maratona and take on all seven, or the Medio or Sellaronda if you’d rather taste the magic in a shorter dose.
Our Maratona dles Dolomites cycling tour is built around that one unforgettable day — but the whole week earns its place. Our guide team, former pro riders who know these roads inside out, will be beside you from the first pedal stroke to the last descent.

Arrive in Alta in Badia, check into your hotel and get set up with your bike fit. In the afternoon, we ease into the mountains with a shakeout ride up Passo Valparola — steady, scenic, and just enough to shake off the travel and get a first proper look at where you’ll be racing in a few days’ time. Welcome dinner in the evening to meet your guide team and fellow riders.
The big one before the big one. Today we ride the full Sellaronda loop, circling the Sella massif over four legendary passes: Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena. It’s one of the most iconic rides in cycling — closed roads, endless switchbacks, and some of the finest mountain scenery anywhere in the Alps. Lunch trailside with the peaks in full view, back to Corvara by evening.
Two of the Maratona’s classic passes in one day. We climb Passo Gardena first, winding up through pine forest into open alpine meadow with the Sella towers rising ahead, then drop back toward Corvara before taking on Passo Campolongo — shorter, sharper, and a proper leg-opener for what’s still to come this week. Lunch trailside, back to the hotel by early afternoon.
A day off the bike to recover before race day. Explore Alta Badia, relax at the hotel, or join an easy optional spin if you’re restless. Race briefing in the evening before a carbo loading meal ahead of the big one the next day.
This is what you came for. Start line in Corvara alongside thousands of riders, then the full Maratona course — Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Giau, Falzarego, Valparola — seven passes, closed to traffic, all for you. Our guide team will be on course and at the finish to see you home. Celebration dinner in the evening.
After an unforgettable week of riding, exploring, and experiencing the magic of the Dolomites, it’s time to say arrivederci.
Whether you’re heading home or continuing your travels, we hope you leave with tired legs, great memories, and a deeper love for cycling.
Grazie mille for being part of the journey—and we hope to ride with you again soon!
Hotel Rezia
Our base for the early part of the trip, Hotel Rezia is a family-run hotel in La Villa, right in the heart of Alta Badia — the kind of place where the welcome feels personal because it is. After a big day in the mountains, sink into the wellness area (sauna and steam bath) before dinner, or just watch the peaks change colour from the terrace as the light goes.
Hotel Soleil
Located in the heart of La Villa, at the foot of the famous Gran Risa, Soleil Alpine Lifestyle Hotel combines contemporary Alpine design with the traditional character of South Tyrol. Surrounded by the spectacular Dolomites, it provides an elegant and comfortable base for experiencing Alta Badia and the iconic roads of the Maratona dles Dolomites.
The hotel offers modern rooms, excellent dining, wellness facilities including an indoor pool, sauna and steam bath, as well as dedicated cycling services and guided bike tours. Its central location makes it an ideal base for exploring the legendary Dolomite climbs and the Sellaronda.

A daily support van follows the group throughout the trip, giving you the full pro experience. It carries spares, snacks, drinks, and any spare gear or jackets you want to shed mid-ride.
During the Maratona dles Dolomites, we set up our own dedicated feed zones along the route — just like the pros get. You’ll find snacks and drinks stocked and ready, and you can drop off your own bidons or specific nutrition ahead of time so it’s waiting for you when you ride through. Our team is on hand at each zone, and there’s basic mechanical assistance available too, just in case you need a quick fix to keep going.

When booking the package with us, your entry is included. You will be starting in 3rd grid. According to the conditions of entry, women will automatically be placed in the 2nd starting group.
However, women have the possibility to start together with their friends/companions from the 3rd group.
In general, it is possible to start in a later starting group, but it is not possible to start in an earlier group than the one assigned.
The minimum stay is 4 days. If you are planning to stay less than 5 days and missing the airport transfers on the Wednesday, you can make your own way to accommodation or organise a private airport transfer at a supplement.
If you’re planning to ride the Medium or the Long ruote, some endurance and climbing preparation makes a real difference — long climbs and elevation gain reward riders who’ve built specific climbing endurance rather than just general fitness. If you’d like a structured plan built around this trip, visit our cycling coaching page and Matteo can help you put together a plan based on your current level and the time you have before you travel.

Beyond your usual riding kit, bring extra layers and some rain gear since you are in the mountains and you can expect the occasional shower. Our full guide to packing for a European cycling holiday covers everything else you’ll need for the week.
